To clean the To-Go Mat, wipe down the coated cotton base with warm soapy water, or hand-wash the cotton cover in warm soapy water, using a soft brush to clean the spikes. Rinse and hang to dry in the shade. Once dry, roll it back up, ready for your next Shakti practice.
Roll the To-Go Mat so that the spikes face inward. Fold the back of the storage pouch and loop the elastic over the ends to secure it in place when not in use. Store out of the sun, as UV rays can cause the colour to fade. Keep out of reach of pets and children.
We get it, shopping for spikes to relax on is tricky when you can’t try them first. If the To-Go Mat isn’t right for you, you can return or exchange it for free within 60 days.

Use it the same way you would a full Shakti Mat – bare skin is best, deep breaths will help you through the initial discomfort, and 20 minutes is all it takes. Lie it on your hotel bed or a sun lounger for a familiar feel, or place it on a harder surface to dial up the intensity. Once unrolled, tuck the pouch into itself to reveal the Shakti logo and create a pocket for stuffing a shirt inside as a makeshift pillow or headrest. When you're done, roll it up from the bottom with the spikes facing inward and secure it with the elastic loops.

Almost any surface works. Your hotel bed or a padded lounger will give you a feel closest to your full mat at home. A harder surface – bare floor, firm ground, or carpet – will intensify the sensation. Outdoors, grass and sand both work well. The To-Go Mat is compact enough to fit in your carry-on, but it's best used at your destination rather than in the air. For in-flight relief, try rolling it up and placing it behind your lower back as a makeshift lumbar support – it won't be your best session, but it'll take the edge off a long-haul flight.
