The most popular way to Shakti is in bed, before sleep. Lying down with the Mat under your back and shoulders is perfect, but you can use the Mat to target tension anywhere throughout your body.

Will it hurt? Yes. But only for a little in the beginning.
Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough – or you’re beyond relaxed already – you won’t feel much.
After a few minutes, the tingling sensation fades into a deep, relaxing warmth. The redness is purely a circulation boost. You might even fall asleep.
There are two things to consider when looking at intensities:

FEEL THE HEALING
I am obsessed! I knew this is what my body needed well before I hit order! From day one on the mat, I have almost fallen asleep every evening listening to the guided mediations on the app. The initial experience instantly created warmth in my body that was slowly followed by tingling sensations and I knew my body was doing some deep healing. It's a little uncomfortable at first but if you stay lying on the mat just that little bit longer and feel your body relax into it, it's like magic. My sleep since has been the best i've had in months. I truly couldn't recommend this more.
