Yoga mats aren’t created equal. Ours is made with thick natural rubber. It’s bonded to a GRS-certified recycled polyester upper for support and control through every pose. Say goodbye to sore knees and cold, sticky surfaces.
The thick natural rubber base will stay firm against any surface. The soft textile upper gets better with a little moisture on your palms.
As a natural product, rubber can initially have a slight odour. It’s completely normal, the opposite of harmful, and it will dissipate after a short time. Speak to your doctor if you have a latex allergy.
Investing in yourself can be tough, we know how it feels. If Shakti isn’t right for you, you can return or exchange yours within 60 days. That being said, only 1 in every 271 customers returns their Shakti Mat, and that’s a mat covered in spikes.

There are so many ways to use your new Yoga Mat. It’s soft enough to protect your knees and wide enough to keep you centred, making it perfect for the gentler side of yoga.
Think yin, nidra, core workouts and slow flow – but don’t be scared to work up a sweat. When you’re done, all it takes is a quick wipe down with a clean, damp cloth and you’re ready to relax with your Shakti Mat.
If you have a meditation practice you can ground your cushion or sit bones easily – and comfortably. Place your meditation cushion directly on the mat or simply get comfortable in a seated pose. Your sit bones and ankles will sink into the mat’s soft, smooth surface.

The Grounded in Comfort Mat is designed for winding down. The compromise here is that it isn’t suitable for hot yoga or humid environments.

No, it’s not a sticky non-slip mat. The soft, smooth recycled polyester upper is made for comfort and slower floor-based practices. But don’t be afraid of building up a little sweat on it! It’s easy to clean and wipes down well with a damp cloth.

Because it wouldn’t be comfortable, otherwise! Natural rubber is heavier because it doesn’t have the fillers and trapped air that other types of foam (and other types of yoga mats) do. And our mat is already thicker than most.

Whether practising slow or fast yoga, cool or hot yoga, it has worked really well for me.

'Say goodbye to sore knees' is RIGHT! I was initially concerned that the incredible thickness of this yoga mat made it is difficult to fold over to give extra padding to the knees, which is what I usually do, however the thickness is actually so luxurious that my knees felt already padded on just a single layer, so that is great! I love the feel of the material on both sides and really appreciate the strap it came with too. The recycled materials add to a peace-of-mind practice, and it is always so comforting to know that Shakti deeply care about the ethics of their products. The one downside-- if you can call it that-- is that it is pretty heavy! But without the heaviness it wouldn't be so thick or high quality. Despite the fact that it is technically not a 'non-slip' mat, it is perfectly adequate for downward dog and other moves that require some grip. Overall exceptionally pleased with the quality of this mat and so excited for Shakti to continue innovating.
