What makes premium, premium?

What you need to know

  • • Tension-free muscles
    • Increased circulation
    • Mental clarity
    • Calm and focus
    • Deeper sleep
    • An ongoing sense of wellbeing

  • The most popular way to Shakti is in bed, before sleep. Using the Pillow as an extension of your Shakti Mat lets you target your neck and get even more relaxation from your downtime.

When you place it under your head, neck and shoulders, it disperses pressure avoiding any pinch points. Your shoulders and neck experience a deep release that transitions up toward the top of your skull.

Its shape is also perfect for releasing tension in hard-to-reach curves, and you can rest your face against the spikes for a subtle sensation.

20 minutes is all you need for each spike to work its magic. To make it easy, you’ll receive free access to the world’s only acupressure mat app with purchase.

  • Will it hurt? Yes. But only for a little in the beginning.

Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough – or you’re beyond relaxed already – you won’t feel much.

After a few minutes, the tingling sensation fades into a deep, relaxing warmth. The redness is purely a circulation boost. You might even fall asleep.

  • There are two things to consider when looking at intensities:

    1. Acupressure is personal
    2. Shakti spikes are much sharper than anything else out there.

Like the firmness of a mattress or the pressure of a massage – acupressure is the opposite of ‘one size fits all’. If you go too far in the beginning you’re less likely to build a solid habit. It’s why we offer three intensities that all unlock the benefits of acupressure.

    Level 1
Lying on spikes is weird, so we made sure this is the perfect place to start. Expect a balance of initial discomfort and deep release. Ideal for anyone new to acupressure.

    Level 2
For the bold and brave. Fewer spikes = more discomfort, so commit to pushing through to unlock the deeper release on the other side if you are contemplating Level 2.

    Level 3
Our deepest release isn’t the last stop on your journey – it’s only for the most experienced. Expect a serious sensation to start, with plenty of reward if you can handle it.

  • Where acupuncture uses needles to pierce the skin, acupressure uses spikes to press against it. The key difference with a Shakti Mat is that you can activate multiple acupoints in as many seconds as it takes to lie on them, and you don’t need to book an appointment either.

Reviews Summary
Customers say this acupressure pillow creates initial discomfort followed by deep relaxation, with many falling asleep during use. They find it versatile for targeting neck, shoulders, head, and other body areas. Users report the spikes provide a massage-like sensation that helps release tension and improve sleep quality. Many appreciate using it alongside mats for complete relaxation sessions. Common feedback includes an adjustment period of several days to weeks before experiencing full comfort. Some mention the pillow works better without clothing for maximum effect. A few users with thicker hair find the spikes less effective on the scalp, while others prefer different intensity levels or pillow shapes for their needs.

    Nice Addition

Alongside my premium mat I purchased the premium pillow as well. I have very thick hair so I can’t feel much a difference, but my boyfriend who is bald, swears it feels great (he didn’t say that the first few days). Either way, this pillow is nice when you’re wanting to lay on the ground but not have a gap in your acupressure!

    Extra spiky support

As someone new to Shakti, I was drawn to it from a standpoint of trying something different. I don't have chronic pain and am a fit 40 something male. I played high-level sport for over 20 years (as close to professional for an amateur sport) and continue to remain somewhat fit - but was looking for an accompanying aspect to compliment my weekly training and aid recovery.

I went all in and got the pillow and the mat from the outset and while the pillow initially required a bit of shuffling about to get it in the right spot (the moving about probably causes the most discomfort!) I found that when I tried doing a session without the pillow, I felt I was missing something. While sometimes tricky to find the sweet-spot on the back of your head, the post-session feeling was definitely worth it and I feel that it's a great complimentary piece.

I don't profess it's anything game-changing but I definitely feel that it adds an alternative recovery and is a positive addition.

    Neck and Shoulder Relief

I’ve just started using the spikey pillow - both with a mat and on its own. I love it! I find it helps me to release tension in my neck and shoulders… it’s firm enough to allow me to focus the pressure right where I want it. My new go-to after a long day!

    Best pillow ever!

Works just as it advertises. I have found this to be great for reducing the tightness in my neck and shoulders. I am a jaw clencher and work at my desk 40 hours per week. Since starting to use it 2 weeks ago I have found that I am nowhere near as hunched and clenched as normal. It is reducing my neck and shoulder plain. Love this for 20mins a day while reading a book. Thoroughly recommend this becoming part of your routine.
