The most popular way to Shakti is in bed, before sleep. Using the Pillow as an extension of your Shakti Mat lets you target your neck and get even more relaxation from your downtime.
When you place it under your head, neck and shoulders, it disperses pressure avoiding any pinch points. Your shoulders and neck experience a deep release that transitions up toward the top of your skull.
Its shape is also perfect for releasing tension in hard-to-reach curves, and you can rest your face against the spikes for a subtle sensation.

Will it hurt? Yes. But only for a little in the beginning.
Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough – or you’re beyond relaxed already – you won’t feel much.

Was gifted the Acupressue Mat a few years back, didn’t like it - or more appropriately didn’t understand it. Shakti came up on Instagram, how to use it, and now I do understand it. Joy, double the torture - and double the treat, but can happily lay down for an hour and let those little spikes of pain do their magic. Have downloaded the app so will follow the advice given there. Geeft een goede doorbloeding in de nek en hoofdhuid. Ik heb daarna wel makkelijk een jeukende hoofdhuid. Misschien moet ik er nog aan wennen of is de hoofdhuid te gevoelig? Als het niet verbetert leg ik er een handdoek tussen of ik koop me het langwerpig nekkussen, zodat de hoofdhuid niet in contact komt met de naalden.

Hallo, bedankt voor het delen van je ervaring! Als je hoofdhuid een beetje gevoelig aanvoelt, kun je proberen een dun laagje stof tussen je hoofdhuid en het kussen te leggen, en je sessies kort te houden terwijl je er langzaam aan went. We hopen dat het na verloop van tijd prettiger aanvoelt.
